Uneven inner-edge tyre wear — a classic sign of a caravan running out of alignment. Caught early, it's a cheap fix; left alone, it scrubs out a full set of tyres.
Why alignment matters

Misalignment costs you money — usually before you notice it.

Caravan wheels go out of alignment for all sorts of reasons: hitting a curb, a heavy load, a knock from a pothole, age-related suspension wear, or just normal wear and tear over thousands of kilometres. Once they're out, three things happen — and none of them are good.

Your tyres wear unevenly. A set of caravan tyres should last 5+ years. Misaligned, you can scrub them out in 18 months. Your fuel bill goes up. Misalignment increases rolling resistance — your tow vehicle has to work harder, and you'll feel it at the pump. Your towing stability suffers. Worst case, sway and instability at speed. Best case, a van that just feels "off" behind you.

How we do it

Proper tooling.
Measured, not guessed.

Industry laser alignment tooling. We measure each wheel with purpose-built laser alignment gauges — the same class of equipment used in professional workshops — so toe and tracking are set to spec, not eyeballed.
Independent suspension needs annual checks. Coil and independent setups shift over time and after rough roads. If your van runs independent suspension, we recommend an alignment check every 12 months to keep it tracking true.
What we cover

Wheels, tyres, alignment.
Done right, on your driveway.

Precision wheel alignment

Laser alignment to manufacturer specifications. Toe, camber, and axle alignment checked and adjusted across all axles.

Tyre changeovers

Onsite tyre fitting, balancing and rotation. We bring the tyre, the equipment, and the new valves — you keep the van where it is.

Tyre wear diagnostics

Tyre wear patterns tell you exactly what's wrong. We read them and recommend specific fixes — not just a generic "you need new tyres".

Suspension inspection

Shocks, springs, bushings, and mounting points checked for wear or damage that could be causing alignment issues.

Safety report

Pre and post alignment measurements emailed to you. Useful for resale, insurance records, or your own peace of mind.

Common questions

Wheel alignment,
explained.

Tell-tale signs: uneven tyre wear (especially on the inside or outside edges of the tread), the van pulling to one side when towing, vibration through the tow vehicle at highway speeds, or significantly higher fuel consumption with no other explanation. If your van is over 4 years old and has never been aligned, it's almost certainly due.
Yes — that's the whole point of our service. We bring portable laser alignment equipment, jacks, tyre fitting gear, and everything else needed. We need a flat, level surface to work on (driveway is fine), good access around the van, and a couple of hours uninterrupted.
Functionally, the equipment we use is the same precision laser alignment equipment workshops use. The advantage is convenience — no towing risk, no waiting room, no drop-off and pickup hassle. The setup takes a bit longer because we're working out of a service vehicle, but the result is identical.
Yes. We can quote and supply most major brands of caravan-rated LT and ST tyres. You can also supply your own if you've already got a deal from somewhere — we'll just charge for the fitting.
Recommended every 24 months as routine maintenance, or sooner if you've hit something significant (curb, pothole, embankment) or notice uneven tyre wear. Always worth doing before a long trip if it's been more than 18 months.
Yes. Off-road, hybrid, and heavy-duty caravans all benefit from regular alignment — often more so than road-only vans, because of the harder use and the impact stresses on the suspension components.
